It is expected that Siv Fridleifsdottir parliamentarian of the progressive party, speaks for a bill regarding ministers to step down from Althingi while they are in ministerial office.
Siv set the bill forward as well as other parliamentarians from the progressive party, independence party and popular front party. It has been served five times before. In a report with the bill says that it is intended to sharpen the three parts of the government.

The former chairman of the popular front party and minister of foreign affairs, Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir, says that she has a hard time forgiving herself regarding the great collapse and for causing the anger which was around in the community at that time. This is said in an interview which the television show host Solvi Tryggvason took with Ingibjorg and will be aired on Wednesday night.
Solvi repeats after her: "I think the anger is a very negative force and is one of the things I blame myself for and is probably what I have the hardest time forgiving myself about regarding the collapse and having participated in calling out all the anger which came out in the community."

The parties of the labor market are criticizing the government for their lack of actions and ask if the government has forgotten the stability pact about reconstructing the economy which was signed in June. The profession labor iterates that the pact had not been "signed just for fun".
Gylfi Arnbjornsson chairman of ASI says that it is clear that after the stability pact was finalized had the parliament only been busy with one case - Icesave.

The suggestions of changes from the national budget committee to the Icesave bill will be distributed at the parliament on Saturday or Monday. There has been a settlement in the committee about the wording of the advance notice to the Icesave contracts and the opinion of the committee will be written tomorrow. The parliament parties at the parliament will gather at 6pm today.
Asta Ragnheidur Johannesdottir president of the parliament says that the employees of the parliament are anxious about getting their summer vacation but the parliament is to gather again in six weeks and the entire preparations are still not ready.

In an interview in Malefnin on Skjar1 earlier this evening was David Oddsson asked if he planned to re-enter politics. He did not rule that out. "Everything is possible," said David and added that he is happy but he is in no way discontent about having left politics.

Gylfi Magnússon, minister of commerce, says in a article in the Morgunblaðið today that Icelanders can live up to their agreements because of Icesve and it would be a blunder to endanger the resurrection of Iceland and all communications with the outside world by denying to own up to their responsabilities.

Steingrímur J. Sigfússon minister of finance propoces up to a 4 billion króna raise on alcohol and tobaccocharges in the coming months. The minister says in a report regarding plans to balance the state treasury for 2009-2013 that a raise in alcoholcharge could be 30-40% and tobaccocharges 30-40% in two stages this year and the next. Alcohol- and tobaccocharges were raised by 15% last May. |

It's no exageration to say that alot has gone on between members of the economy and the government in the events leading to the agreement that was signed late the night before last about the stability agreement which has been on the agenda, with the participation of the communes, for the last weeks.

If anyone has had their hopes up that the stability agreement would bring about lower interest rates as soon as in the next weeks and that the rate of the króna would strengthen, one would be disapointed. The turn around could happen though in the last months of this year.

If the coming bill about government responsibility of the balances of the Icesave account in the parliament it will mean the end of the current government, says Gunnar Helgi Kristinsson professor of politics. The aim is for that the ill is to be set forward this week but at the party meeting of the left wing party green campaign earlier this month were three parliamentarians of the party who voted against the contract. If the entire opostion as well as these four government members take a stad against the bill will the bill be dismissed with only one additional vote.
