"It is like the factory stopped two das ago, not 20 years ago," said gunnlaugur when he was asked how things have been working out at the factory.

Whale 9 (hvalur 9) is now out on the whaling grounds but the aim is to get whale 8 out next week. Gunnlaugur said that the whaling grounds are not far away and more than enough whale in the waters. On the other hand has to be clear view and sky in order to be able to hunt.

Gunnlaugur said that there are around 70 persons working in the whaling station in Hvalfjordur, around 30 persons as the crew of the whaling ships and 20 persons are working in the freezing station in Akranes.
