There has been much coverage of unsold apartments owned by contractors in the capital area. The masters union of industrial workers in Hafnarfjordur (MIH) has thought of this coverage as far too negative. In the same articles have the media not made any difference of unfinished apartments and finished, apartment in the process of being built and untouched lots which are mostly owned by the communes. The general reader may interpret all of this as unsold apartments, which is a giant bluff. MIH is not going to argue about how much has been built over the need for the last semesters but the expected need for new apartments per year are around 1800.
