Donations  E-mail

This website is run by me only, Anya, every day of the week. I try my best to stay on top of the news every day and everything that is going on, as well as put my own experience of the life in Iceland in words. This website was created by me from scratch, and I have turned it into what it is as you see today. I am very proud of how well I have done on my own, and I think this is one sign of what one person can do in terms of making their ideas prosper and turn into something wonderful.

This website is my attempt to make a living, and all of this is supported by your generous donations. No advertisements or affiliates, just your support. I started this website in October, and is still going strong. Unfortunately the number of donations per month are not many, but my hopes is, with increased effort on my behalf, that this will be sometime in the future, a source of income for me. This website is what I rely on in these frightening times.

If you wish to support me and what I do, please donate an amount you have in mind to donate. I do not have a set amount per donations, as every single dollar/euro/pound has a lot to say for me, as this is my job. I am most grateful for each donation, as each generous donation gives me an increased chance of survival, and continue to keep this website up to date.

All donations so far have gone to my paypal account, as it is extremely difficult to transfer money between countries since the foreign banks do not trust the Icelandic banks from what I have heard, this seems to be the only safe way for me to receive money.

For those who are curious:
Paypal is the world leading payment system used by from what it looks thousands of companies and individuals around the globe. The website claims to be the safest payment gateway available, and my experience is exactly so. The donations are deposited to my account there, where I then transfer the amount to my prepaid credit card. Since the credit card company is not a bank, it has a safe and trusted method of transfering money. I have never run into any problems this way, so I have chosen to use this method.

A prepaid credit card is simply a debet card that has credit card numbers, but is used just like a debet card. So I am in no credit card debt or anything like that, as I have never owned a regular credit card. All donations that I transfer to my prepaid credit card are treated like debet transfers.

I am unable to exchange money orders, and such, since there are no foreign companies here, and this sort of payment method is not known here in Iceland.
