The pension funds are willing to put 100 billion into projects  E-mail

Vaðlaheiði.The pension funds are willing to put 90-100 billion króna into financing public projects in the next 4 years, accourding to Arnar Sigmundsson, chairman of the National Associations of Pension Funds.

In that regard a few specific projects have been named such as the tunnel through Vaðlaheiði, the construction of a transportation terminl in Reykjavík, the dobbeling of the tunnels in Hvalfjörður and the building of the new Landspítali-university hospital.

Kristján Möller minister of transportation says he welcomes the approach of the pension funds to projects in transportation as it is very important to the economy.
