In that regard a few specific projects have been named such as the tunnel through Vaðlaheiði, the construction of a transportation terminl in Reykjavík, the dobbeling of the tunnels in Hvalfjörður and the building of the new Landspítali-university hospital. Kristján Möller minister of transportation says he welcomes the approach of the pension funds to projects in transportation as it is very important to the economy. The pension funds are willing to put 90-100 billion króna into financing public projects in the next 4 years, accourding to Arnar Sigmundsson, chairman of the National Associations of Pension Funds.
