Landsbankinn sold industrial housing at Grensasvegur for more than forty percent less than the house was bought for three years ago. The square meter was sold for close to 50 thousand króna. Scrap value, says a certified real estate agent, but not uncommon in this situation. The newsroom took a look into this case and got a copy of the sale contract. Fridrik Hansen engineer bought the properties in 2006 for close to 132 million króna in the purpose of turning the house into a hotel. A year later were drawings approved about changing the property into a hotel, but at that time had started to become more difficult to get funds in the bank and he was unable to finance the changes. He could then not stand up to his commitments and Landsbankinn bought the assets on an auction a year ago. From what Landsbanki said had the assets been put up for sale at two real estate agencies, Eignamidlun sold the assets in October for 75 million króna but according to the Spegillinn on RUV had it been the brother of the parliamentarian of the left wing party, Bjorn Valur Gislason, who bought the house. It is extremely far away from the value evaluation of the house and less than 60% of what Grensasvegur 12 was sold for three years ago. Eignamidlun did not advertise Grensasvegur in the papers - but the asset was advertised on the internet.
