'This agreement is about a new advance in employment. With the stability agreement a broad solidarity has been reached with all parties of the work force, the communes and government about a campaign to resurrect the economics through many-sided actions. This is a decleratoin about a widespread cooperation to get the nation out of the current depression,' says Gylfi Arnbjörnsson, president of the ASÍ.

 On the web of ASÍ Gylfi says he is satisfied with the result in the current conditions in the society. 

 'These actions we are working together toward, are meant to create conditions for a new advance in employment and therefor a better way of living for the future, for all our sakes. Furthermore the ASÍ is especially pleased to have prolonged our wage contracts which means a raise of salary for our minimum wage workers,' says Gylfi.

'It is our hope that with this agreement and the actions that are presented there it wil be possible to jump start the wheels of employment by lowering interest rates and an agreement to pave the way for bigger projects and laying a foundation of an agreement with the pension funds about financing the increased projects.' says Gylfi Arnbjörnsson.
