Close to 13 thousand university students have still not found a job for the summer, according to a survey made by the Student council of the University of Iceland. From these 13 thousand are 9700 sure they will not find a job this summer.

The university council will tomorrow meet about possible study at the University during the summer because of the situation on the labor market. The education committee of the parliament will meet about this matter today at 10am by the request of Einar K. Gudfinnsson, parliamentarian of the Independence party. The representatives of the universities of Iceland will meet with the committee as well as those representing the interests association of the students of the Universities.

"We have spoken of it for a long time that the situation may become serious for the university students. We did not feel that there was enough consideration for our views and so we put this survey out and the results of it show that the situation is very serious. We have spoken for that there would be summer terms in the universities and hopefully that will be done," says Hildur Bjornsdottir, chairman of the student council of the University of Iceland.
