The FSA says that it is not authorized to answer if it is investigating the alleged marketing abuse of Kaupthing Landsbanki and Glitnir. Morgunbladid sources say that such investigation has been going on for a while. The newspaper sent the FSA an inquiry about how long this investigation had been going on and if a part of it had been refered to the special D.A. about the economic collapse. In the answer of the FSA says: "The FSA has a set limit in law that includes amongst other that it is not possible to give the answer to if the FSA is investigating the alleged marketing abuse of the Icelandic banks for the economic collapse or not." According to the sources of Morgunbladid includes the alleged marketing abuse in affecting the prices of the shares in the banks them selves. The banks could contribute to virtual trades by lending their employees related individuals or general participants on the stock market finances to buy shares in the bank itself.
