Iceland is going to apply for joining the EU
I can not believe they approved this .. the parliament has now approved the parliamentary resolution about joining the EU. Most around me say that the EU will reject the application since most of the nation is against the idea .. I have no clue. All I know is that this is not a good idea for Iceland, overall. The agriculture and all .. this is horrible to say the least. Especially after the parliament rejected the idea of the Nation voting about the contract. This feels like "usurpation" if you know what I mean. All the sudden .. the nation has no voice anymore, and I bet those who wanted to put pressure on having the elections this spring are .. not very proud.
I wonder when the protests are going to start again .. because its not the will of the nation to drive the agriculture into a black hole and hand over the fishing waters ..
I´m more or less stunned about this .. I didnt think the parliament would actually say the nation has no say in this - and then decide to apply.
