Surviving Iceland

I can not believe that the parliamentarians are wasting such time on debating about matters that have less weight than others .. Stalling I guess. I am pretty sure that things would be simpler if the elections would have been held this fall perhaps in stead of the spring. Such waste of time .. then the summer vacation of the parliament is around the corner and what are we supposed to do in the meantime !

I think the worst part about the decisions that have been made recently are the cut backs .. to be more specific .. where they are cutting back. I am pretty sure that the news lately regarding how things are going to turn worse this fall are going to come true. And my gut feeling has been pretty right so far. I can not believe how things have turned out and in fact, things are going to get worse. The price raises are amazing, once one could fill up a grocery bag for 4-7.000 .. with FOOD. Now .. you can barely put a third in it for that price. Unless you are only buying milk and bread.

I spoke to a friend yesterday who spoke about how things are changing and how fast it is happening really, the food cart is out of control regarding prices, and companies are going bankrupt everywhere. I wonder where that will go. The community I live in is going bankrupt, the largest companies have gone bankrupt and the unemployment ratio will be clear this fall when the lay offs come in effect. So after over 100 persons around me lost their jobs its pretty much black on white that i´m NOT getting a job any time soon ..

All I can do right now is thank for the good weather since I have been keeping myself as busy as possible working on the veggies and so on, and thanking myself for being this wise and planting this when I did. I have quite the variety thank goodness. I wish I had some fruit trees though .. unfortunately it seems pretty impossible to get fruit trees to live in this environment.
